Men against Violence against Women

Men against Violence against Women

On March 8, 2011, on the 100 year of International Women's Day, a group of concerned men stood in front of Kerala State Secretariat in the capital, Thiruvananthapuram, supporting women's rights to be equal human beings and condemning the violence against them escalating in recent times in the state. Later they marched towards the Matyr's column in Palayam, Thriruvananthapuram and joined the Candle light vigil organised by women in the city against violence against women.

They are planning for consistent action to make aware men to take responsibility of stopping and avoiding violence against women around them in public, private and domestic space. Activists and common men are joining together in this effort.
